The discussion draws particularly on data from the Bosnian variant that marks long- and short-forms by vowel-length and pitch-accent in addition to inflectional suffixes.
Returning to the puzzle of double agreement, this view resolves the problem in a conceptually attractive way: long adjectives do not agree twice with the head noun, they (their phi-set) agree once 13. g. stari ‘old’). For example in the sentence Mi ga jedemo sirovog ‘we eat it raw’, the adjective sirovog appears with the pronominal inflection although it is used predicatively. Syntactic positions of attributive adjectives with the (phi-set of the) functional head F, the latter being the source of the extra (pronominal/long) inflection.
